The Family Resource Centre runs a drop-in group every Tuesday morning, with tea and coffee included, for parents, grandparents and childminders. It takes a break in July and August. Castlemartyr, east of Midleton, has its own group.

There's no public pool, but two hotel pools are worth knowing. The Talbot Hotel has an 18 m pool and a separate babies' pool. Castlemartyr Resort keeps its pool at about 30 degrees, with set children's hours. Both work on membership, so ask about access.

The town playground on Park Street has swings, a zip line and climbing frames. Ballyannan Woods is a short walk from the centre, with a loop of about 50 minutes. Leahy's Open Farm in Dungourney is the day out.

Yes. The Midleton Family Resource Centre group meets every Tuesday, 10:00 to 12:00, not in July or August. Price: €2 per family, tea and coffee included. Just drop in.
Two. The HSE group meets every Wednesday, 09:15 to 11:00, at Midleton GAA Club, Clonmult, Midleton P25 TD73. La Leche League East Cork meets monthly (Second Wednesday of the month, 10:00 to 11:30) at My Place Community Centre, Mill Road, Midleton P25 YT50. Both are free.
