Ladies Latin: beginner Latin dance classes for adults in Co. Cork
Ladies Latin is a beginner Latin dance class for adult women in Co. Cork, taught by Sofia Doroshyna, a competitive Latin dancer. You dance solo, so you do not need a partner or any experience. It is planned to start around mid-October; join the waiting list and you will be the first to know the day, the place and the price.
What is Ladies Latin?
Cha cha, samba, rumba and jive, danced alone, the way Latin dancers train. You learn the basic steps, the arm lines and the hip action, and you work on three things that stay with you outside the class: posture, flexibility and the confidence that comes from knowing what your body is doing.
Who is it for?
- Women who have never danced and want a class that is theirs, not a gym class.
- Women who danced as a girl and stopped.
- Mothers whose children are in the kids class and who want their own hour.
- Anyone preparing a wedding, a party or a "Strictly" night and wanting to feel at ease on a floor.
No age limit.
How does a class work?
60 minutes. Warm-up and stretching, technique on one dance, a short routine that builds up week after week, and five minutes of free dancing at the end. Heels are optional: trainers or dance sneakers are fine for the first block.
When and where?
One evening a week, probably in Cobh and in Cork city, from around mid-October. The evening, the town and the price per block will be announced to the waiting list first. An adult stretching and flexibility class follows straight after, the same evening, so you can stay for both. Mum & Baby
